Article 1. Title:

Islamic Studies – Level 3

Article 2. Course Description:

Islamic Studies (Level 3) is the first level of this scientific-promotive field of study which introduces the seminaries to the principles of Shia and other Islamic sects, Islamic history and civilization, introduction to the world history and religions in the language in which the course is presented, skills necessary to introduce and advocate for the teachings of Islam and Shia traditions, connecting to the celebrated figures in the field in the international realm, teaching, and conducting research in order to find answers to the requirements in the field of Islamic Studies. Upon finalizing the course, the seminaries will be granted their diploma.

Article 3. Objectives:

  1. Development and advancement of the discourse in Islamic and Shia studies according to the needs of the contemporary world
  2. A scientific and comprehensive introduction and propagation of Islam and Shia tradition in the international realm specifically in the discourse of religions
  3. Educating competent forces in order to teach Islamic Thoughts and to hold scientific positions
  4. Development of the skill to debate and communicate with the scientific figures in the realm of Islamic Studies and clarifying the suspicions raised by the Orientalists
  5. Development of research skills in the field of Islamic Studies
  6. Educating competent seminaries who are ready to enter higher realms of study
  7. Discursive and in-depth understanding of the matters of jurisprudence, its principles, and methods of jurisprudential discourse
  8. Developing the ability to deduct information and conduct research on the matters of Islamic Jurisprudence and its principles
  9. Developing the ability to use the Islamic Jurisprudence resources

Article 4. Policies

  1. The moral and spiritual development of the seminaries
  2. Cultivating seminaries’ independence of thought and self-confidence in the scientific matters and the matters related to the required skills for advocating the Islamic Thoughts
  3. Nurturing seminaries’ capacity to serve their God, and to voice their dedication to their Creators, while defending the teachings and beliefs of the school of Ahl-al Bayt (to whom highest regard is dedicated) while promoting comparative studies
  4. Development of the principles Islamic Government and promoting its values
  5. Emphasis on research-based training
  6. Emphasis on the employment of Information Technology and practical teaching methods that concord with seminary traditions
  7. Emphasis on the dynamic nature of the educational, research-based, and skill-based while addressing the needs of the day at the international realm
  8. Emphasis on the identification of the elites and highly talented individuals in the realms of teaching and advocating for Islamic Thoughts overseas
  9. Emphasis on the employment of verified textbooks that are drafted according to the required standards
  10. Teaching the courses of Islamic Jurisprudence and its principles and supervising the seminaries in order to see their adherence to these principles
  11. Connecting with the scientific and religious centers around the world

Article 5. The Course’s Necessity

  1. The high significance of the introduction and propagation of Ahl-al Bayt School of Thought along with developing talks and making connections with the believers of other religions based on the teachings of the Quran and the narratives
  2. The seminary’s calling is to provide teachings in the realm of Islamic and Shia thoughts in the international realm and in the most commonly used languages
  3. The world community is in need of being introduced to the real version of Islam and the School of Ahl al-Bayt (to whom the highest regard is directed)

 

 

Article 6. Education System:

This field of study is instructed in-person while following a semester and credit-based curriculum. The courses will be taught (independent of the thesis) within at least 6 and at most 8 semesters.

The entire courses of each level of this field of study are taught in one of the following languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, etc.

Note: if one course cannot be instructed in a specific language, it can still be taught in Farsi. However, the total courses that have been taught in Farsi cannot exceed 30% of the entire body of courses.

 

Article 7. Admission Terms

  1. Having the general and ethical qualifications according to legislated regulations
  2. Being graduated from the scientific Level 2 and having the diploma to certify it
  3. Accommodation at an advanced level with the language in which the course will be held
  4. Getting accepted at the entrance exam and the interview

Note: if one course cannot be instructed in a specific language, it can still be taught in Farsi. However, the total courses that have been taught in Farsi cannot exceed 30% of the entire body of courses.

  3. The history of the Prophet of Islam and Imams (to whom highest regard are directed)

Note: The seminarians who have passed the prerequisite courses at the highly reputable centers, if the curriculum they’ve studied matches 80% of this curriculum are not required to take the prerequisite courses again.
